SALARY: £28k - £37k + Bens

LOCATION: Oxfordshire (Commutable from: Reading, Newbury, Swindon, Basingstoke, Oxford, High Wycombe)

Field Service Engineer (Electro Mechanical Machinery)

The Job This position has come about due to our clients overwhelming success in their market place. Our client\'s systems are highly advanced and bring together aspects of Chemistry, Vacuum Physics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering and Material Science.

This position is to join the Field Service and Operations Team. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of their high value capital equipment/machinery. This position will involve a large amount of travelling often at short notice. Office/Field split is probably 50/50.

You can expect to be supporting complex Electro Mechanical machinery (using a diverse collection of technologies such as; vacuum, radio frequency, plasma, electronics, electrical, PLC control, computing and Internet connectivity and mechanical systems).

While this is a hands-on technical role you will also be required to be customer facing and happy to integrate with customers on every level as project value and time to install and commission can be lengthy and costly to the end client.

This role is suitable for an Electro Mechanical Field Service Engineer who is happy to travel regularly and for various amounts of time. (Your likely background will have come from working in one or some of these sectors (Scientific Instruments, Ceramics, Medical Devices, Healthcare (complex systems), Pharmaceutical machinery, laboratory instrumentation, environmental Instrumentation, Plasma, Coatings, vacuum etc)

Your skill set will need to include

  • HND/HNC or above in Engineering (Preferably Electro Mechanical or Mechatronics)
  • Rounded knowledge of Electrical/Electronic and Mechanical Systems
  • Proven experience of supporting Low volume high cost machinery
  • You will need to demonstrate diverse hands on technical knowledge of most of the following; Vacuum systems, radio frequency, plasma, electronics, electrical, PLC control, computing and Internet connectivity and mechanical systems.
  • Previous and extensive experience of performing installation, commissioning, support and maintenance of high value complex machinery for clients internationally.
  • You will be able to provide well documented service reports on a timely basis.
  • Computer literate in applications such as, but not limited to; Outlook, Word & Excel.
  • Excellent Communication Skills and be comfortable dealing with Clients at all levels.
